Experience the thrill of open water by boat.  Loring-Restoule is a region of water, from lakes and rivers, to creeks & wetlands we have many scenic miles for you to explore.  The iconic Pickerel River system connects a large system of lakes into a 40 mile water cruising experience. Commanda Lake, Stormy Lake and many other inland lakes also provide recreational boating opportunities.

A favorite activity of those in our region is boating to a waterfront restaurant.  Places like Old Mirror Lodge on scenic Toad Lake (Part of the Pickerel River System) offer romantic views of breathtaking sunsets, while enjoying fine dining to the call of the loon.  Old Mirror Lodge is water access, and is an experience not to be missed; be sure to check out their guestbook and leave your thoughts!

Tornado’s Restaurant, offers European Hospitality at their waterfront restaurant, also accessible via car.  Tornado’s offers customers scenic float plane flights & American plan.

Lost Channel Inn Restaurant has become an iconic stop for cottagers looking for a pint, or a drool worthy Sunday Brunch.  Drive or boat in for excellent hospitality, also a great stop for history buffs wanting to learn more about our region.

Other great places to drop in along the Pickerel River system include The SunDog Gallery gift shop, located at Pine Grove Resort.  Pull up to the dock, and you are only a short walk up hill to the gift shop.

Springtime is the Argyle Fish Hatchery Poker Run, this yearly event attracts many who like to get out on the water and support the Walleye Restocking Program. Cards can be purchased locally and are signed by participating camps & business along the Pickerel River System.

If you are in it for the fishing, waterskiing, or just enjoy being out on the water, there are many opportunities to rent boats from your smaller 15’ fishing boats, to pontoon and bass boats.  For those boating enthusiasts who own their own watercraft, there are public launches throughout the region, as well as groomed private launches and docking for those staying at our Resorts and Lodges.  Some resorts offer seasonal launch/docking privileges.

Mike’s Marina in the town of Port Loring and Booth Service Centre in Arnstein can assist you should you need work done on your watercraft.  For those looking to purchase boats and motors, Power Sports & Marine in North Bay can handle all of your watercraft and motorsport needs.
